Donna Summer's "Four Seasons Of Love" Celebrates It's 40th Anniversary: Spring Edition
Spring is in the air, and Donna Summer has just the song to help celebrate! In 1976 she released "Four Seasons Of Love", an album with only four tracks, one to honor each of the seasons of the year. I will share each of these tracks with you as their appropriate season happens upon us, so for now let's boogie down to "Spring Affair".

Clocking in at over eight minutes, "Spring Affair" is the first song on her 1976 album "Four Seasons Of Love", making sense as Spring is the first season to start in a new year. Donna Summer does an excellent job at capturing the highlights of spring through song. Lyrically, it's a playful account of meeting someone new and all the hope and excitement it can bring. Vocally, she keeps her cool the entire way through the song, wispy and breathy, all the while gorgeous, adding to the hushed passion of the lyrics. Musically, the song brings in many elements to replicate the feel of Spring. Thoughtfully played instruments help induce feelings of flowers blooming and scattered rain showers. Most impressive, the song mixes the perfect amounts of dancefloor Disco and contemporary Pop so that it's never feels like too much or not enough, just like a "Spring Affair" should be. Be sure to check back in the seasons to come for the rest of the album.
The Queen of Disco, Donna Summer is a 3 Decade Diva this year, thanks to her two albums from 1976, and a ton of collaborations and contributions in 1996 and 2006.
